VUDU now available on iPad!

Dear Movie Watcher,

Got an iPad®? If so, we've got great news for you! Starting right away, you can rent, purchase and watch movies from VUDU directly on your tablet. We've optimized our website for viewing on your iPad, so you can navigate our collection of over 20,000 movies with a simple flick of your finger. There's not even a need to install an App. Instead, just add an icon to your iPad desktop by clicking the "Add to Home Screen" button when on www.vudu.com/movies.

A few things to note:

Due to restrictions by content providers, playback is limited to SD quality. However, you can purchase a movie on your iPad for viewing in HD or HDX resolution on your TV. Just make your purchase at vudu.com then access it from your My VUDU account on your VUDU-enabled device. We will also seamlessly playback movies you've purchased in HD or HDX in SD if accessed through your iPad.

At this time, Walt Disney Corporation has chosen not to permit VUDU to deliver its content on the iPad. You can still browse and purchase Disney content on VUDU using your iPad, but you will not be able to view it on the iPad device.
To give it a try, just browse to www.vudu.com/movies from your iPad, pick a flick, sign-in to your existing VUDU account and you're ready to go. Then, enjoy VUDU (on your iPad!) tonight.

Netflix becomes "disc-free" on the PS3

If you instantly watch movies and TV shows from Netflix on your PS3, here is the news you’ve been waiting for: starting Monday, October 18 you’ll be able to instantly watch movies and TV shows without inserting an instant streaming disc into your console.
In addition to eliminating the disc, there is a new user interface that brings a much richer and faster browsing experience, content search directly on the device, and dramatic improvements in how fast playback starts.

There is even more good news for PS3 owners: starting on Monday you’ll be able to instantly watch some movies and TV shows in 1080i high definition, listen to Dolby 5.1 channel surround sound, and view an increasing portion of our content library with subtitles. This will bring the home theater experience right to your living room and make instantly watching movies even more enjoyable. Here’s a news release from Netflix and Dolby with details.
Check out these improvements and continue to enjoy watching TV shows and movies streamed from Netflix.
